Salt has always been a common thread of life throughout the ages; the Roman Army set up a permanent fort and created a settlement and industrial working areas. A Medieval market rose up around the salt industries and associated trades creating a Middlewich Town that we see today.

Middlewich has everything, listed and historical buildings, modern amenities, good transport links and a beautiful canal system.

The White bear is a lovely pub in the high street (Wheelock Street) which does food and drink.   The Kinderton, a Tudor style property yet with all the modern comforts, has just been renovated and is a lovely bar/restaurant (very popular/ has lots of events on every weekend, charity nights, bingo, live music, SKY sports etc).
A very nice Mexican restaurant called Chimichangos again in the high street, is very popular.  Also a new Italian restuarnat has recently opened called ll Padrino, and with lots of chinese and Indian takeaways you are spoilt for choice!
