Weaver Vale Housing Trust and its Shared Ownership arm Prospa Homes have this week taken handover of the first phase of new homes for affordable rent and shared ownership at Woodford Grange in Winsford, the site of the former Woodford Lodge High School. The seven shared ownership and two affordable rent homes form part of a larger development under construction by Keepmoat Homes.  The 30-acre site, off Woodford Lane West, will include 401 new homes (for sale through Keepmoat) once complete. The homes are set around a small central village garden and a green corridor. The Shared Ownership homes are for sale via Prospa Homes, shared ownership is an affordable way to own a home, with purchasers buying a percentage of the property and renting the remaining percentage from Prospa Homes, which allows purchasers to secure a lower cost mortgage. Jo Fallon, Assistant Director of Development said: “The Woodford Grange scheme represents our first development of shared ownership homes in Winsford and demonstrates Prospa Homes’ and Weaver Vale Housing Trust’s commitment to delivering much needed affordable homes for the communities in which we operate. Shared Ownership gives more people an opportunity to own their own home and we believe strongly that this is key in Cheshire, where affordability is often an issue. “We are delighted to see the completion of the affordable homes at this site and look forward to handing over the keys to our new customers.”
